This exceptionally beautiful and rare yarn is a one-off limited edition spin created with Black Wensleydale and Black Bluefaced Leicester X fleece from Hill Top Farm flock of Malham, high up in the Yorkshire Dales.

Spun in two shades by Diamond Fibres, the Dark version was created with a higher percentage of Black Wensleydale, the Light with more Black Bluefaced Leicester.

Both the Black Wensleydale and Black Bluefaced Leicester X sheep are classed as rare breeds. 'Black' is used as a descriptor for fleece which is brown and/or dark grey in colour with shades ranging from silver grey and golden brown through to steel and dark chocolate.
