Pioneering palaeontologist, fossil collector and dealer, Mary Anning, and her beloved terrier Tray, are celebrated in this wonderful tea towel printed with a Linocut by artist Christopher Brown.
Born in 1799 in the coastal town of Lyme Regis to a poor family, Mary spent her childhood collecting fossils along the beach to sell in the family shop leading her to go on and make major discoveries of, among others, Ichthyosaurus and Plesiosaurus fossils which are now on display in the the Natural History Museum, London.
