Lodestars Anthology is an independent magazine-meets-journal for curious travellers who long to be inspired, see the world and meet interesting characters along the road. Focusing on one country per issue, Lodestars is a scrapbook of place, a magazine that goes deep into the heart of a location and uncovers its quirks, flavours and splendour, taking a truly personal, beautifully crafted and slow approach to the art of travel journalism.
With stunning photography, thoughtful and beautifully written stories, and original illustrations - produced in Bristol by a small independent press with an eye for detail and a love for print – Lodestars is a thing of beauty in its own right. You’ll probably want to keep it atop a coffee table, or perhaps fill it with scribblings and notes and stow it away in your travel bag for inspiration whilst on the road, or simply indulge in a spot of armchair travelling.
In recent issues Lodestars journalists and photographers have rambled up the Keele River by canoe; gone hawk-walking in the bonnie braes, found paradise on Lord Howe Island, been foraging at Daylesford, hitched a ride with ice-road truckers to Aklavik, and taken a turn around the garden with Antonio Carluccio . . . (We’ve) been for a dip in a lost lake, practiced the art of Fika in Stockholm, gone cattle-wrangling in the Kimberley, wandered Tuscan hills with saffron farmers, and much more besides.

Issue 1 England (Reimagined): England ... it is sylvan, unpredictable, sublime, originative and contradictory - a land of eccentricity and ingenuity, a mix of worlds, practices and lifestyles all enriched and enlivened by an enthrallingly complex past.
Travel here and discover more than you thought possible - and that defining Englishness is a daunting task indeed. This is a magazine about forests, crags and drystone walls; about culinary daring, crumbling ruins and journeys into the wild. It is an ode to literary histories and a smuggling past, coastal towns and cultural capitals. Recalling long forgotten giants and lingering lore, this is our homage to England and the verve that makes it eternal.
